Need help on 22re!!!

Just bought an 88 yota with the 22re engine. The truck did not run when I bought it. The guy told me he bought from a kid and drove it home 30 miles and it it ran fine until he washed under the hood then it quit. That was 8 years ago. I started with a new battery. Then I drained the 5 gallon of water out of the gas tank and what little gas was in it and cleaned the dirt out of it and install a new strainer on the pump. New fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc. That got it so it would start and it idles perfect but thats it. As soon as you start to open the throttle it starts to stumble and run rough. I test the tps checked fine but i tried a different one anyway. I tried a different air flow meter. Tried a different distributor. Different coil. New ignitor. Different computer. Any other ideas? It did run better with the air flow meter unplugged??

The only thing i can think of is your distributor got wet.

Or you got water in all your filters and blew your engine.

Any codes? Did you check for obstructions in the intake (rat nests) or leaks around the intake?

"Different" airflow meter? As in not new? Are you sure the AFM replacement was good?
