need creative transmission flush idea
So my pickup has, what I think is a w serries, 5speed manual transmission. I was filling the transmission with royal purple 75w/90 and about to poor in my second quart when the filltube nipple not only came off but fell into my transmission case.
I pulled the drain plug off and only the fluid came out. I tried running an old motorcycle throttle cable through the drain plug out the fill hole. I tried using compressed air in both holes, shifting through all gears and still no sign of it.
I need creative ideas how to get it out without pulling the tranny and pulling the gearset out. I just got my 22re in after a complete rebuild and the last thing I want to do is pull this transmission...any tips welcome, im running out of time and money to get this truck on the road before the snow flies.

do you have access to one of those scopes that you can stick down cylinders through spark plug holes? with the little camera and a light attached to see exactly where its at?
pfft. let that transmission gobble up that plastic for a few hundred then flush it
just kidding don't do that.
if it were me i'd do that if i got frustrated enough.
tight clearances so it shouldn't be to far from the fill hole. i don't even remember the bottom side of my tranny. is there a cover plate you can pull?

yeah I wouldn't worry about it, since it's a manual. the gears will just chew it up, and you'll never even notice
were it an auto, then you'd be in trouble, because the plastic pieces will wreak havoc all over the place in an auto trans. but, were it an auto, you wouldn't be filling it that way regardless

and its your tranny man. there is always that chance that it could take to big of a bite and get caught in the gear. and then you'll have to disassemble anyways.
