I bought a flatbed that was fabricated by someone else and it is just flat. I'm about to put rails and a roll bar on it. What gauge of steel tube did you use on your roll bar and rails? I got 14ga square 2x2 to keep the price and weight down and I am hoping that I didn't go too thin.

If I remember right we bought 1/8" steel square tube, not sure what that is in gauge thickness.

I believe 1/8 is 11 gauge. So that's quite a bit more steel than I am getting. I plan on bracing the roll bar a little more though. I think I'm going to do 2 vertical bars and have an angled one go back to the rail.

You might be alright as long as you do the bracing. Good luck and post some finished pics when your all done with it.

Will do! I don't plan on going on any rocks so I won't have too much to worry about. And on the off chance I roll it on the highway or in a field, anything is better than the tin can over my head now, right?

I used the factory mounts on the frame. I have added tabs to the flatbed frame that match up with the factory mounting points. Then I drilled holes in the tabs and bolted them to the old bed mounting points.
