Talking My Winch Arrived!!!!

After waiting a very long time for my winch, it arrived on Tuesday.
Along with the FJC Trail Teams gloves from chevihemi:

For the next little while my Grandfather and I are designing a custom mount. So it may be awhile before it's mounted. But I'll post the second it is on and tested.
Sorry for the blurry photo's, the camra does not like the recent humidity.

That's the winch I've been eyeing. I'm jealous! How much did you get it for? You'll have to let everyone know how you like it when you get it mounted.

How much longer than "normal" does it typically take to get a package down there?

That ain't bad; I live in the good ol' U.S. of A. & it sometimes takes nearly 3 weeks to get stuff here.....I have an order in I placed Monday for an in stock item with 2 day air shipping & I called today wondering what's up & I was told it hasn't even shipped yet. I can never get anything from Californication in under a week regardless of how I have it shipped...next day air?.....5 days but no weekend delivery lol

Have your plans changed, or are you still going with the stock front bumper? Hopefully you keep the stock bumper....I am very interested to see if this can actually be done.

No, no. This is a good thing. If a winch survives being hooked up to a Jeep, it should be more than enough for something this isn't always stuck, half-broken and barely working.

Yes i am going to keep the stock bumper/valance set-up. it is taking me along time to figue out a safe yet stock mount for the winch. i think i have one in mind that i'm going to make a mock up today. I would like to have it on by the end of next week but no garentee's. I'll keep everyone posted on the updates. And yes the smittybilt winchs have both Warn and mile marker parts/components because they are all made in the same factory from what i hear.

be careful of that winch cable, it has a fiber core wrapped with steel. where as warn and other top brands use steel core. good reason to switch to synthetic

That's what the leather gloves are for. And lets not forget, not all warn/mile marker winchs come with synthetic and the fact that Warn/Mile Marker and SmittyBilt winchs are all built in the same facility and share parts amongst themselves.

NICEEE your gonna love this winch, good bang for the buck.

this is how i mounted mine.

i had to cut out a section of the bar, capped it, and i welded on some 1/2" steel plating for the fairlead. and i mounted my winch on some 1/4" steel plating welded to the front and rear lower bars. its a close fit, the wires are kinda squished against the grill but they are fine. i like to be custom lol.
i got mine at my local 4wheelparts dealer and it cost me $294.74 out the door, no waiting lol they had it in stock. i was lucky.

but i dont think that there is a high chance of these cables breaking for how light our trucks are.
