My "New" 87 4 Runner
New here, picked this up about a week ago for $500, has 217xxx miles on it. Just needs a new timing chain.

It will be my daily driver/off road rig.
Any suggestions will help...

WOW $500, I wish Toyota's were that cheap where I lived, that truck would sell for 1700 all day where I am. Once the timing chain is replaced this truck will easily make it 300K miles and probably more. What I would do is get 31" BFG A/T's and regear to 4:56's, then I would put a limited slip in (Detroit Tru-trac) for offroad/onroad driving in the rear, but then again that's what I have, so maybe it's more of a biased opinion than anything.
Are you going to be doing the timing chain yourself?

Thanks everyone,
I used to be WAY into Subaru´s, still am. But I needed something with more room, could do better off road stock than my soob could with a 4" lift.
Couldnt resist this runner, Im painting the fenders black (kind of my "signature") my soob has it too, my friend is selling me some 31" M/T´s.
Just need to get out and do the timing chain soon, but I have to pay my dad back before I can drive it.
