My glasspack took a dump

My glasspack finally had enough!

Leaving the parking lot after dropping a few people off and my truck sounds alot louder, and seems to be vibrating my behind quite well!

Pull over and well there you go..

So, thinking of heading down to the local muffler shop and just getting them to slap in a peice of pipe in place and clamp it, so I can change it to a muffler down the road.

I knew it was going to happen soon, its a $20 flowtech that I put on almost 3 years ago. Didnt expect it to last too long.
Wierd part is it broke around the weld.. Clean break!

yeah, but pipe is cheaper...and I was getting tired of the glasspack. If I dont like the straight pipe sound I will probibly throw a glasspack in there, or save up for a flowmaster 50 series.

I just want it to sound good!

I might cut off the remains of the glasspack myself and just go grab some pipe and slap it in. Im pretty broke right now so cheaper the better!

oh man, you suck!

Stop teasing me!

If I had a grand I would remove it all and put headers and that borla in there! It sounds too good for a 3.0!

Maybe I can do it once I get a new job, but that might be put on hold if I go back to school..

haha thanks,

you could always just put the muffler on it? and piece it together one by one? I wonder what it would sound like with just a cat back with the turbo muffler.

Its so loud right now! IT vibrates my truck haha!

On friday morning im going to my friends shop so I can cut off the remains of the glasspack. Gonna go to the muffler shop and have a peice of pipe cut and flared so I can just slip it on and clamp it.

Im so brok right now, it has to be the cheapest option. Should only cost me $20!

If I hate the way it sounds I will buy a glasspack, if I dont mind it I will run it till next year then save up for a borla, or possibly a flowy

haha loud is good! i love it when there is some slow person driving and i blow past them and it sounds like a rig going by hehe. 22re at low rpm sounds rig ish lol. you should make a vid of your truck running that straight pipe oyah kinda of topic but how do you like the 3.0L with all the mods you have done? does it pull ok? i am so tired of my 22re on the street it just isnt fun to drive when you get passed by a honda civic on a hill hahaha i realy want a 3.4 extendee cab

You blow past people with a 22re? Usually I'm the slow person being passed up. I've been thinking of getting rid of the truck lately. Mine has a glasspack on it as well and it sounds like crap (slow rig + loud exhaust = embasassing)

Been wanting to upgrade to a nissan frontier or a newer tacoma. But with my lack of credit, no one will sell to us in this economy. I have no credit, and what little I do have is good (rent, phone bills, electric all paid on time and in full)

add headers to a 3.0 and it'll pull great. I still wouldnt recommend hot rodding it. i mean, its still a 3.0... it has more issues than just the head gaskets and limitations of the exhaust set up. I would not swap a 3.0 in the place of a 22re... not worth it in terms of power, or reliability... just do a 3.4

It pulls pretty hard for a 3.0! Pulls pretty decent to bout 5,800rpm then it kinda falls offs.

It'l run with a 3.4 if I shift good. That thing has mile long throws! Two miles of driveline doesnt help either.

right now my motor is running rich. A wire from the TPS to the ECU is bad so its causing the truck to read the truck is lean im assuming. No codes though...

I got a spare wiring harness, just dont have the time to pull the upper intake and pull the harness apart... Its been raining non stop! Im afraid I wont be able to do it till next year Its been running like this for almost 3 years.. Im sure the rings are having a great time!

If I see ya, Il blow by you

Oh yeah, no update on the exhaust. My buddy left me hanging, so now the exhaust is left hanging I will post up when I fix it.

I wish I had my compresser at the house! I could have this thing done tomorrow.
