Is my CV Gone???

Hi Guys

My 95's started to create some unusual grinding noises lately, coming from the front right wheel area, its only when im turning the wheels at slow speeds, i can feel the grinding in my steering wheel to, its not constantly grinding but just hits a notch every sec or so

What you guys reckon??

Did you check the CV boot? Check the ball joints? Check the idler arm? Check the pitman arm? Check the wheel bearings? Could be a couple things.

Jack up the front end and have the keys in it so that you can turn the wheels at the wheel (make sure you block the rear). Spin said tire and while your sitting there turn the wheel and see if it's binding or if you can hear where it's coming from. More than likely its the CV but I can't be positive.

I had one with a bad boot and drove it for quite sometime with grease flying out. They can take a beating but they will go out every so often.

you sure it's not just the steering stops? They are a little rubber piece that wears down over time and when you turn the wheel all the way it makes a pretty wretched sound like metal on metal. they are harmless though.

I forgot about those...When I'm at full lock it makes a horrible creaking, grind, bang sound that turns heads real quick like.
