Angry must i say toyota of seattle winners....

So about two weeks ago now I was driving to work and my 4runner kept on over heating, I had no idea what was going on since I have never experienced this problem before, needless to say I crawled my way from renton to seattle to my work, and decided it must be something stupid so I just took it over to toyota of seattle to get it fixed thinking it was nothing major, ends up being my head gasket blew, my injectors where shot and my o2 sensor was shot.... great first quote was 2500 dollars to get it fixed, at this point I was like fine fix it I need it back, 3 days later I call and they tell me that the heads were warped and need to get sent out ok so now its costing 3000, 5 days later!!! I call and find out that they need to get all new valves so now it cost 3500, so at this point I asked the guy in service how much dose a new motor cost because if that was cheaper I would do it that would cost 5000 installed ok so I just told the guy to fix it and thats it nothing else, and while they fix it I told them to do the steering relay rod recall, needless to say its been two weeks, I have never received one phone call from toyota of seattle telling me whats going on with my truck even when I have been told they would call, basically I feel screwed and im warning every one to never go to toyota of seattle for service, dose anyone have any advice on what I should do because I have received the worst customer service I have ever received in my life??? I thought about calling toyota and complaining but I don?t know if that would do anything...

So they would charge $3k for installation? Or are you talking a brand new engine?

Toyota of Seattle has had issues keeping there Service Managers. These guys seem to float around from dealership to dealership looking for jobs. And I really don't care for how they keep their shop. I'm a firm beliver that you can tell the quality of work by the way they keep their shop. My .02

I don't know about seattle but in San Antonio, When My HG went, they told me about the heads being machined and might as well to a valve job while they are in there, along with the timing belt and water pump. HG was quoted 1500, The heads and valve job sub out to a local machine shop, they even showed me there invoice no extra cash on that. Cost of machining the heads 475with valve job? I also need a knock sensor (found this when they where in there)

Do I was out 2300 at large so I decided with all this I needed an AC since the top end was so new threw in a compressor and expansion valve total was I think around $3400.

They should have known about all this going into a HG at least the warping of the heads and the valve jonb at minium. They should have discussed with you. what all it is going to take..

The dealer charges by the book how many hours it would take to do the job, night as well get some preventive stuff while you are in there, Ie. Timing belt and water pump, it is just cost of materials it is already off.

What year is the truck, I assuming you have the 3.0. Call another dealer with the VIN and see if you are eligible for the HG campaign, If it wasn't done you can get the whole HG done on there dime along with machining the heads.

well if you do the work youself and take it to a machine shop to resurface the heads and then replace valves it should cost maybe 1k and then a lil more for the gaskets and then put it all back together. ive had my heads off like 4 times. not all due to hg blows but its nof very hard to do the work youself, takes about a weekend.

I was going to say the same thing also, I do believe that it's pretty much a common practice to have the heads milled when you have to do the gasket.

How many miles did it have? Sometimes head gaskets give out, they don't last forever on any motor. Everyone laughs about my 95 having a 3.0 but it's got 170K on it, if it blows I'll just assume it was due.
