Mounting AUX gaunges
Hey there, I'm wanting to mount 4 or 5 aux gauges in my truck (aux fuel, air pressure, oil, water ect.) just wondering where everyone mounts their gauges. anybody out there make a A-pillar pod for our trucks? can anything be easily made to fit?

4crawler (Rodger Brown) has a write up on an A pillar setup: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...es/index.shtml
Some late 80's trucks have a dash pod with 3 gauges on it:

I remember coming across that site. Will definitely keep that option open, Does anyone know if they can mod a more common pod to fit? Also I will have more than 3 gauges. Where else is a clean mounting spot?

I was thinking just yesterday...if my gauge cluster ever went bad I'd really like to swap it for a piece of black diamond plate and put a set of auto meter pro comp gauges...Speedo, fuel, tach, amps, volts, ect...
The brushed chrome, white face and black letters...Almost did it in my FJ40...but sold it before I got around to it.

Here's what I've done on my 97 Runner>
And you could always get a kit that you could put 2 or 3 same gauges under your headunit

I have a 91 4runner. I am thinking of mounting some under the ashtray and lighter. Things like the aux fuel tank and air pressure don't always need to be monitored, just would like a read out. They can be kept hidden.

I've got the 3 gauge pod. Like 4crawler, I've got 4 gauges on it.
My oil pressure gauge also does fuel pressure via a micro-switch.
I've got a 2-gauge pod FS at $25 + shipping if anyone wants it...

On my fox body mustang, guys would mount the guages in the center dash vents. Doing so would require a little bit of modification though.. and the sacrifice is air flow.
We've also got a double DIN setup for a radio... gauges aren't terribly visible there, but it's a good spot for the small variety.

Make sure if you go through the hassel of blowing holes in your dash for a bunch of gauges you get yourself one of these. It's a requirement I think!
