It feels like the 261 falls flat up top. The motor feels like a mid range motor, not a high RPM like I was planning. Everything is tight and sound, no vibrations, and it started up in the first 10 seconds of cranking (after priming, of course). I wish I opted for forged piston, for this motor will be seeing boost. If it blows up or cracks a piston, I can only kick myself.

How does the 261* cam compare rpm-wise to stock? What size exhaust are you running?

To be honest, the stock cam is decent all the way around, and this isnt! Of course, stock drops off a little early and doesnt rev too high, but it's stock, what do you expect? This 261 cam that I have feels, hmm, how can I describe it...it feels like a mid rpm cam. In my opinion, it doesnt really offer the low end that is proclaims, and it sure as H E L L drop off early! It's new to me, I've just gotten home from driving 205 miles on it today, and I don't like it! Like I said before, everything is perfect motor wise, but I really don't agree with this cam. This is just my opinion, of course.

I am running all stock exhaust until after the cat, which it opens to a 2 1/2" piping with a 2 1/2" Magnaflow muffler.

I'm not sure. But I won't be trying this because I dont want to buy a header, then turn around and have to buy a turbo header, ya know?

Just for reference, what kind of RPMs were you wanting? Where is the 261 falling off at?

Thanks

High RPMs. I wanted to make decent power to redline, 6K. The 261 seems to fall of right in the middle. It's totally noticable, it F'n sucks!

I'm not doggin the cam itself, nor Tod and Ted. I just don't like the cam for what I'm doing, it's not the right cam. I do not want to spend more money on another.

Starion, Mitsubishi's version of it. Same car tho. Kinda like Chevy's/GMC's Silverado/Sierra.

It's horrible! I'm 6'6, tall to say the least, and I cant count how many times my head has hit the roof. I need to do something about it.

But with the 4" drop, the thing handles like it's on rails. It'll keep up with that Starion handling wise. Although, any type of rut or road bumps in the turn, and I'm toast. The back end just bounces around.
