My friend's 3.0 5spd 4x4 just started popping out of 1st gear when under a load. Her clutch is recent. This happened to my saab when a motor mount was shot. Does this sound like a motor mount, or is it the beginning or tranny failure?

 

Wouldn't be an engine mount, different set up than the Saab. Usually on Toyota trucks it's the bushing on the end of the shifter that wears out. Fairly easy fix.

 

Shifter seat. If the shifter seat is warn out the shifting will also feel quite sloppy.
