Missing egr temp sensor?

Alright, sorry for SO many posts here. I've got another question.

I failed smog. I purchased the vehicle knowing it would need a check, the PO knocked an extra 200 off for my troubles. I failed high nox, both speeds. I was trouble shooting my egr today per the fsm, and noticed I could not find the egr temp sensor.... Anywhere. See pic. I'm assuming it's supposed to go to the capped off connector shown in the bottom right? Or is it somewhere else on my motor? I've compared other pix of 3vze's and it's definitely not where I understand it should be on my motor.

I'm assuming this has a bit to do with my problems... Anyway,

I'm sorry again and thx in advance...

What year is your truck?

Not all models have one.

Is it California or Federal spec??

My '92 Federal spec runner has no egr temp sensor, but my '95 Federal spec runner does have it.

Interesting! I didn't know that. As far as I know, this is a California truck, and has been since day 1. Is there somewhere I can look to verify that it's Cali vs Fed spec? It's a 91 p/u Sr5, 4x4 man trans.

Being completely honest, I stopped trouble shooting the egr half way thru the steps after I found I had no temp sensor assuming that was my issue. I suppose I should continue in the morning.

The sticker on the underside of the hood that gives the tuneup specs says what the emissions control regime is also.

I would imagine that it could be determined by the trucks serial number as well.

Awesome, thank you for the info. I have a fed spec truck. Sounds like it's not and original California truck as I thought!

Time to get back to trouble shooting the egr. Thanks again.
