No more oil leaks though

Valve cover gaskets were the problem

I think you mean "you're aggravating". Learn to spell.

I did the EGR delete in small steps. First I cut the tube that feeds into the plenum off, and removed the vacuum hose at the top of the valve. That was good enough for the time being. I did get around to removing the entire thing though shortly thereafter.

Put wine corks in my plenum? Not sure where you got that idea. Wasn't something I ever did. I used one of those cork-like rubber plugs for a temporary fix, untill I made a block off plate. By corking the hole, I meant plugging it. You know like, "put a cork in it!". Not literally put a cork in it. You could use a wine cork though, I suppose, if that's all you had...

Gutting the cat was necessary. The forward catalyst block was melted and blocking the flow, so I removed it. Of course I could have left it that way, but what's the point in that?

BTW, don't you worry your pretty little head about it. I won't be giving ANY more technical advice to ANYONE on this site from here forward. Y'all are just gonna have to fend for yourselves now. Done pissed me off for the last time...not you specifically. This actually happened a few days ago. The offenders shall remain nameless.

This place has become the blind leading the blind. Nonsense reigns supreme. Not that it hurts me none, because I've always been the question answerer. NOT the question asker. How many times in 3100ish posts have I asked for anybody's advice or help with anything related to fixing my truck?

Answer: ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NONE, NADDA!

I need you people like I need another hole in my head.

So long suckers!!!

Don't know what the ruckus is all about, but I am sorry to hear you say that MH. For what it is worth, you have helped me out several times specifically and the pics & diagrams you continually post are invaluable. I hope you don't peel, but either way, thanks for all your help.

I've been known to change my mind, ALOT! I probably just need some time to cool down. And in all fairness I've got about half a dozen other things in my life that are driving me plum crazy at this point. Maybe in a couple months when I get those sorted out I'll pick up where I left off...I just can't control my argumentative nature right now. So it's either refrain from putting myself in situations where an argument can evolve, or get myself banned from here for good.

Thanks for saying so, both of you. I appreciate that. I'm just going through a phase right now. Things always work out in the long run. This run just seems longer than most. And it's been really getting to me lately. I'll be alright though, just need a little more time to get my head straight.

YT is actually one of the "good things" in my life. And I don't see that ever changing, unless I were to screw it up for myself by making some stupid mistake. Which I'm trying desperately not to do, and hopefully won't ever happen.

i think your timing is just off my truck used to miss then yestereday i took a look a the timing (which me and my dad timed by ear) and it was at 14* it says its supposed to be 10 so i set it to 10*(with a timing light ) and it runs so much better (when using a timing light don't forget to use a wire jumper in your diagnosis box from TE1 to E1) WHOOPS SHOUD OF SAW THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED

well it still has the stutter...but now it's intermittent. as in it only happens sometimes lol

my timing is set to about 14* or so..but only because i was told to do that whenever i gapped my plugs to like .036 or somethin..supposed to give a more efficient burn in the chamber.

never thought about fooling with timing to see how it all works out...thanks for bringing up the timing!!
