Keep in mind, my intention was just to suggest possible ways to help validate, or call into question, the stated miles on the odometer. Nothing is perfect or guaranteed. Especially where there's huge gaps in the known history. And yes, on vehicles older than MY 2000 it gets even harder. Carfax(or equivalent), smog tests, recall documentation, state inspections, and service invoices were just suggested possibilities. I'm sure the OP would love to hear other possibilities I might have missed.
I tried getting vehicle history on my own vehicle from CA DMV. A gigantic waste of time. I did better with Google.
This vehicle seems to have a sordid history, one that needs clarification before most buyers would pay above normal. But on BaT who knows.

 

I appreciate the ideas and having this forum as a resource. I understand your thinking but if by some miracle the miles are legit that low, there wouldn't really be a gap? Between the first reported milage (1200) and when i found it at 2070. Hopefully that is the case . If not no problem.
The Toyota dealership near me has the steering relay thing in stock and Is going to replace it. Im going to have them look over the entire Runner tomorrow hopefully and tell me what they think about this enigma.
