Method wheels?

I didn’t see my truck (1988 4x4) listed it on Methods website. I’m able to use my 1st gen Tacoma wheels on the 88 but I’d like to get a set of Methods. Any reason why the methods wouldn’t fit?

They might not list it as a fit for a stock truck because of the offset or backspacing. If it's lifted or modified it's up to you to make sure it will clear your brakes, wheel wells and suspension in all situations. Full up and droop as well as full steering while suspension flexed up and down. They might fit with wheel spacers? You have to do your homework. Maybe check the forums to see if anybody with a similar truck is running them.

Post up if you do get them.

Ended up going with the SCS F5's. The only Methods that I was told would fit would have the fake bead lock nuts on the edge of the wheel. The center bore is too small on the other styles to allow the 88 hubs to fit. I'm not a fan of that style so I had to go with another favorite.

1988 Toyota Chinook

Thanks. I really wanted to get a set of Methods but I’m happy with the look of these wheels.

Wish I saw this thread before I ordered a set of Method 703s a few weeks back for my 1987 Pickup 4x4. Since the Method site doesn't list Toyota Pickups, I had checked with their sales team who said they would fit perfectly fine. So I ordered a set from 4 Wheel Parts and when they went to install they just barely didn't fit on the front. The Method 703s (and any of their current Bead Grip lineup as far as I know) don't fit up front due to our manual locking hubs that need to stick out through the wheel center bore. Apparently, the 703 center bore is slightly tapered in order to fit their center cap and due to the taper there is interference preventing the 4x4 stock manual hubs from fully passing through. In order to make them fit you could bore out the center to get rid of the taper which is fine according to one of the guys I spoke to at Method. It probably only needs to be made a few mm larger but I left the wheels with 4WP so can't check myself. Despite the Method sales rep saying it's alright and plenty of people boring wheels out at home I'm hesitant to modify a wheel and impacting it's structural integrity.
