The builds that were doing this had a turbo on it. Not really worth it for a naturally aspirated engine, much less something as small as a 22RE. Lot of $$$ for little gain.

has anyone made progress with the MS/VAST timing variance issue? I have PNPMS2 and using Vast on 85 22RE Stroker setup with 11:1 CR. Too much ping even at 20 degrees. I have noticed that when running fixed 20 degree in MS, it is pretty close on timing light at idle, but when increasing rpms, the timing starts to fluctuate up to 10 degrees. Usually it's in the retarded direction, but it can spike 10 degrees or more advanced. Any tips? Have tried leading edge, but that just makes it run worse and miss. Have increased latency up to 50, and also tried dwell at 4 degrees.

I've been running Megasquirt DIYPNP on my 4Runner for several years now. I haven't had any issues with timing. I did have a fuel injector adjustment issue until I switched to high impedance injectors. They are easier to set. The other issue was the injector setting had to be 2 squirts alternating instead of simultaneous.

Finally got Megasquirt PNP running on my 90 runner. It really makes the engine come alive. Now I am looking forward in hooking up a wideband O2 to the existing oxygen sensor connector so I can use tune analyze live. Any idea what wire to tap into. Its a 4 wire connection as the oxygen sensor is heated. Any help would be greatly appreaciated!

The two wires that are the same color (brown on mine) are the heater wires. What's left (black and red on mine) are the O2 sensor "data" wires. For me, black is ground, red is data.
