I have a 87 4x4 pickup. No power steering. Where do I find a good box under 400? I have about 6 inches of play in my steering wheel. You guys have any ideas?

Hey boss, if it's not leaking, check out how to adjust it with the adjustment screw. It'll take the play out of it until you do get a new box. I just adjusted mine and it steers like new again. Of course I need an alignment because I just lowered it, but that's not the point. It's an easy fix to eliminate the play until you do get a new box

 

Thanks guys, gonna see about adjusting it. I do think it may be too far gone.

 

Adjusting with the adjusment screw took all the play out of mine. Tightened it up real nice.

Anybody have a link that explains how to actually adjust the steering play on my 81 4wd standard drive? If not maybe you could explain it.
