manual hubs

Hey everyone,

I just bought a 1987 4runner which im really excited about. One of the few things I need to work on before I go out are the hubs up front. The automatic ones dont work, does anyone know where I can find a good deal on some manual ones?

Im new to this stuff so if any of yall have any tips or anything that might be helpful, Id appreciate it...

Search and you will find all about manual hubs and how to convert from auto to manual. You can find deals on Ebay or here. Most of the people here are honest and trust worthy.

the best prices i have been able to find so far have been about $140 for the hubs and about $70 for the conversion kit. Does that sound about right? would buying them used be a good idea?

ive seen used ones on ebay for as low as $50 plus shipping and i dont think you need conversion kit unless you got automatic hubs. from what ive read here that is rare. what you more then likely have is add automatic disengaging diff. again this is from what if read on the subject on here and my memory

I don't know if this link is going to work or not but these just sold on ebay a while back at a pretty low price.

Nancy at yotayard.com quoted 40.00 each plus shipping for a pair for my 94 4runner.

sounds right to me. the price for the AISINs has gone up a bit in the past few years, but you should just get a set of used ones and clean 'em up. doesn't seem to be much of an upside to pay more for a new, aftermarket set... good luck
