MAF Question

MAF Question
I installed a K&N FIPK. I'm getting a crackling sound from the MAF. What could that be. The thing is......it was making the same noise with the factory air box. So I know I didn't install this wrong. I'm thinking about finding another MAF at a junkyard and trying it out. Just to see if mine is bad. Has anyone else had this problem? What could it be?
