Lubricate alternator?
#2
I haven't had one apart, but they are most likely sealed bearings and would require disassembling the alternator to remove them. At the same time, if a sealed bearing goes dry and starts making noise, it's already gone and needs to be replaced.

Sure that's what the noise is? Dust on belts can cause annoying squeeks too. I'd try hitting your belts with a few quick shots of WD40 with the engine running and see if that cures it.

Nobody really takes apart and fixes alternators anymore. I say you need to get a new one and save that for a back-up or the core charge on new one. How many miles does the alternator have. If you don't even know then replace it.

That's the reason they make specific belt dressing; that stuff is sticky as all hell, lol
