LSPV Leak
Hi Guys
Ive a leak in my LSPV so it needs immediate fixing....i have been looking for one for quite some time and am having trouble finding a reasonably cheap one, ive seen some "alternative" options, a manually adjustable one but it doesnt look the same at all and supposedly you can fit it in engine bay as opposed to rear axle?? how does that work?? what do i do with my hoses that go to LSPV???
Cheers again guys

I pulled mine out and removed one of the two lines feeding it, ran a new line for the rear brakes, and was done with it. No manual proportioning valve, but you could add it to the line coming off the master cylinder if you wanted to.
If you find yourself in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at some point, you're welcome to come take a look

where was it leaking from?
im haveing a problem with my brakes, and i cant find a leak anywhere else
Just redid my front brakes, rear brake lines, my mc isnt leaking, but still air is gettign in.
i think it may be the lspv, i need to get rid of the stupid thing. i cant find the right height anyways to keep the rearend happy. its either to low and the drums dont do any work or its to high up and it locks them up to fast.

just infront of the rear axle is where the lspv is located, there is two lines coming out of it facing frintwards, the top one of them is leaking, once i see my lspv, i can see the leak so if you can see it then if theres a leak, you'll see it

Hopefully you didn't round the nuts with the spanner or Vise Grips.
You should use a good quality penetrating oil like PB Blaster. Let it soak in for a day or two, spraying a couple times. And you should be using a proper flare nut wrench, as they are designed to grip the nut without rounding it off.
That's how I got mine undone.

a lot of PB blaster and a big pair of vice grips, work (wiggle) the fittings slowly back and forth as to not cut thru lines, then more pb blaster. flare nut wrenches are good but u can usually get more torque out of the vise grips...... i went to the junkyard three days ago and asked them for LSPV for 86-95 toyota and fella said "oh we don't have any of them (toyota's) here." i could see two pickups within a stones throw of their shop!! unreal, ppl around here are still hung up on american motors and "muscle" cars to the extent that they won;t even work on "them toyota's", unreal!! goodluck, brakes can be a PITA
