Lowering ifs.

I know you can raise or lower your ifs a bit with the torsion bars. But how much? I'm looking to lower my 88 extra cab as low as possibly for my ls swap. I was trying to find a 2wd but then I realized why buy a 2wd when I could sell the running gear of this truck and use it. And this truck was imported so its more unique.
I've found one picture of a taco 4x4 pretty low but that was a kit.
Any ideas on lowering the ifs ?

Well you can lower it until it hits the bump stops by adjusting the torsion bars. You can go pretty damn low. But if you do that you will have no up travel and it will ride like crap.

I would go play with the torsion bars and drive it around after you get it where you want it and see how you like it before you get it aligned.

i'd guess you can lower the IFS a few inches, maybe 1.5-2" or around there is when you'll hit the bump stop. pretty sure an LS swap will require a body lift to fit that beast under the hood (maybe this is just for 4wd due to front diff)

the ls isn't a huge motor. not much bigger than a 3.4. id be getting a low profile pan. im not going to do a body lift. im keeping it as low as possible... I might have to cut up the firewall.

you guys wouldnt believe how hard it is to find a picture of a lowered 2nd gen 4x4..
im wondering what size wheel im gonna have to stuff under to fill the wheel well up.
