Lowering cold idle rpm

Has anyone found a way to lower the rpm of a 22re @ cold start idle? Mine is normal on cold start at about 1800-2000rpm on a cold morning. When warmed up its at 750-800 on a 5 speed. I would like to drop it a little on cold start to around 1400-1500 with out affecting warm rpm. Can this be done with a slight adjusting of the tps? Also Im running 5-30 valvoline in winter and 10-40 in summer, anyone else running 5-30 in winter or all year in a 22re? Has anyone tried 5-40 mobil? Thanks for any info

Don't think theres any adjustments for that. And I know its a little annoying in the morning, but that high idle IMO is actually a good thing. Helps warmup, pollutes less (who cares), and raises oil pressure faster.

I thought there was a way to lower it but the only way Ive been able to lower it about 100rpm is by adjusting the tps, or atleast thats how I stumbled onto the tps and the cold idle connection. I guess I will have to live with it. Do newer trucks like 98 and up have high cold idles to???

TPS is a totally different adjustment. If your fireplace is to hot, do you try rearranging your furniture to fix it?

But seriously its supposed to idle high cold. Leave it be, and adjust everything else appropriately.

Thanks Muddhippy but thats not what Im talking about,Yes I know what the tps does and what cold idle is for I was just wondering if it was possible to lower it. If there is great, if not thats fine too. If you read my first post I think its pretty clear as to my inquiry.
