lower ball joint removal question

I have a 86 Toy SR5 4x4 and I need to replace the lower ball joint per alignment shop. I tried everything to my knowledge and can not get the lower ball joint to budge. I use a ball joint remover tool and all it did was busted my booth. What tools should I use or attempt should I take to loosen this son of a gun off....please advise....

I used a tie rod end puller and it work great. I had to kinda hammer into place but not issues. I also coated every thing with PB and use my BFH to help things along.

If your "ball joint removal tool" is a pickle fork you just need a bigger hammer and to go eat some wheaties. It will break loose, you just have to beat the hell out of it.

If you're using a real ball joint puller just set some good tension on it and then tap the LCA and the ball joint with a hammer and it will break loose.

If it's still the OEM bj it's almost welded in.

yep, I found the best way was to put tention on it, strike the LCA right where the lower BJ is a few times with a hammer, then put a little more tention on it, and repeat

might take 2 or 3 goes at it, but it'll pop off

out of all the front suspention parts, I think the BJs on the LCA are the most stubborn

The best tool I've found for that is a pitman arm puller. Something like this one: http://toolsandmore.us/index.asp?Pag...ROD&ProdID=341 I've always borrowed them from the Autoparts places, but I should just buy one I guess.
