Hello all, I've put quite a lot of effort and time rebuilding the important items on this truck. My low gas warning light has stopped working. I know because I loaded a can in the truck and ran until I ran out of gas. I know it used to work and seemed to go off at about 2 1/2 gallons. The gas gauge works fine. Looking for some ideas on where I should start the troubleshooting. Could be as simple as the bulb but before I pull the instrument cluster I need to check if the sending unit could be the problem? As I wrote the gauge works so i don't know if that's even possible for the low warning to stop without the gauge stopping also. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks all.

The Fuel Gauge System and the Fuel Level Warning System are separate (though they are both on the same part). http://web.archive.org/web/201102052.../6combinat.pdf So, sure, the Fuel Warning can stop even though the gauge is working fine.
But it's much more likely to be an electrical issue. FWIW, my EWD shows the Fuel Level Warning on a Y-L (Yellow-Blue) wire from the fuel sender via BG1 (under the seats) to the combination meter. Since, with a pickup, it's tough to get to the top of the fuel tank to test at the sender, you might try BG1. Or just bite the bullet and check the bulb in the Combination meter.
