Looking at 87 toyota
looking at 87 toyota 4x4 and it has the 22re but the guy put a carb on it to make it a 22r and it somtimes gets to much gas and other times not very much gas but drives fine. could you rebuild the carb or put the fuel injection back on to fix it?

Welcome to YT!
It would probably be cheaper to buy a new one than to get the old one rebuilt. I think when I last checked on a new one it was around 250-300 bucks. You could convert it back to EFI if you got a new intake manifold and the EFI stuff. I had an 87 truck that was carbed and I was able to get my auto teacher to help rebuild it for free, I just bought the parts. I was lucky! Good luck and if your looking for a toyota and are seriously intrested in offroading, try getting an 84 or 85 model. Those have solid front axles which when built right are great offroad.
