Long term Damage?

I've been looking at a couple trucks lately and this is one of them. It looks like it's got a bracket lift and probably like a three inch BL. If I did buy it I may eventually get 33s and take out the 3 inch BL and put in a 1 inch. But if this truck has been running on this setup for a while is there any permanent damage or extra wear and tear it's gone through. I can replace the CVs if they're worn out from the angle, but would there be any steering problems or anything?

That's a nice lookin' truck. I'm prejudice against bracket lifts, not a good way to lift your truck. Unless ALL you care about is looks. I would jerk that stupid thing off, lower the rear to match and keep the body lift. I clear 35's with a 3" body lift, and 2" rear leafs. Everything is probably in good shape, because my geuss is the guy never "really" wheeled it.

Yeah. I agree if I had my way with a stock truck I'd get a 1.5 inch BJ spacer, a 2 inch BL, lower the diff if necessary, and match the rear with springs. Actually if I had my way I'd get a solid axle. But I'm finding it hard to come by any around here.

Neither a body lift nor a bracket lift cause any excess wear on the cv's at all. And, if properly installed and maintained, neither of those lifts will cause excess wear and tear on anything at all.

The bigger tires can wear out ball joints and tie rods from what I hear, but I haven't seen that in person.

And unless you rock crawl the bracket lift is fine.
