Loaded 4runner, ZUK mod test. Pictures
I put the top back on the 89 and loaded my camping gear into it along with a 200lb buddy to see if the coils would keep it level or not. Turns out the rear end only dropped 1.5 inches with all that crap in there. This week I'm going to try driving it back and forth to work with all the gear in it and plan to do a little moderate wheeling also. I need to know how much body roll I'm going to have with the rig loaded and it'll give me a chance to post up some pictures.
This is the truck-bed mattress I bought for the pickup and all I had to do was turn it around backwards and it fit the runner like a glove. No that isn't my kid.
Most of my gear. Just missing the fishing stuff (about 50lbs), an ice chest and some misc stuff. If I lay the seats down it all fits, with the seats up I'll have to stack the fishing gear on top of the camping box. (yeah that box is easily 200lbs)
How it sits loaded and my boy keeping watch.
Me and my kid.
I'll do some wheeling this week and post up some poser pictures.

Thanks for the replies folks! Yes the bumper is hanging down in the rear but it's welded on and I don't have the clearance to level it. It was on the 86 pickup and I modded it to fit the runner instead of spending the money on a new one (that money wet to the lift that's on it now). I'll cut it off and level it once the body lift is installed, probably do the welding on it the same day I install the sliders. For right now it's ugly but it does the job.

That thing was about 60$ from Sportsmans Warehouse here in Albuquerque, some sort of special when they got a bunch of them in a couple of years ago.

Comes with the pump, attachments, a patch kit and it runs off of the cig lighter. The valves are "boat" valves with a rubber baffle in them so when it's full of air you can remove the pump and the air won't come back out, you can open the next valve in line and it opens it up to deflate it. The pump is also a "sucker" and you can deflate the mattress in a little less than a minute, takes about 90 seconds to inflate. It beats the hell out of sleeping on a hard deck and with a couple of blankets and a pillow it's really comfy.
This is it folded up in the middle of the camping box.

You can see the truck bedz thing in the back of the truck at the time.
So far I see no difference with it loaded or empty, really. The coils keep things in place and keep the ride very smooth. I'll get a better impression once I get a chance to wheel it like this.
Stop waiting and get it done! It took me all of 4 hours to do the ZUK mod and install my BJ spacers on the front.

That woulda been me it's because it was originally for his truck and he had to modify it to fit his 4runner.

Looks great man! I'm impressed with gear you'll be hauling around. I need to start gathering up similar stuff for me and the kiddies+dog. I plan on doing some camping this summer.

I think that one was for the shortbed extended cab trucks. I can't remember the model number but I think it was the VCSB-T1. The best way to decide is to measure the area you want to use for the mattress and go from there. I can't see the wed site from work so I'll have to wait until I get home to actually look at them and let you know which one I bought.

Matt I really like that set up and wanted to do something similar but with the wife and puppy there wasn't any good option for camping and hauling a 95lb dog and two people. Now that the wife is gone I could do something like that but I actually enjoy the mattress and the ability to still haul extra people.
