yes, but i don't remember who. i took mine off. there are roof racks that mount to the rain gutters which are fiberglass on the rear shell, or you can do like some and screw or bolt it on.

There is someone on here who welded a light bar to the roof of their 1st gen 4Runner. I can't remember who it was, looked pretty good though. Maybe they'll chime in!

Thule, Yakima, Mondial/Bic...depends if you're just using it for lights or are going to be needing accessories for bike, ski, snowboard, kayak, box etc. If you have a good ski/bike shop go there and ask if they have any spare parts, you can usually rig something up for dirt cheap. I found an old Thule system and it's not the fit kit recommended by the co. but it fits really nice and doesn't budge. If you're going to be carrying expensive equipment, I'd make the investment for the 'right' one otherwise check paper, internet and go down to the shop and they'll guide you if they give a crap and care about customers. Hope that helps a little.

You could always just pick up a roof basket too, then throw some lights on the front of that.

Lightbar is KC and I think you can still get em new....mine was in a friends garage for 10 years or more so I liked that it was old school.

Roof rack is all yakima I went with the permanent flat rails as I dont trust the gutter mounts and wanted something that allowed ease of adjustment and removal. The landing gear mounts slide on the tracks and the bars completely come off at the flip of a lever. couldnt be happier with it. Many on here complain the tracks are too much $$$ but I dont like to compromise. Sorry I donthave better pics of the rack set up.

you can barely see the bars in this pic but gives you an idea where it sits.

I attached a Thule system directly onto my Lear cap. Pretty bomb proof - have the same hardware I put on more than 10 years ago. Downside? Well, I was an f-in idiot and forgot to put silicon in the drill holes and threads. Now I have a nice wavey cap roof. DOH.
