well since i couldnt find the page to post my thread.
i am in the pocess of switching my 88 4x4 4runner into true pickup.
i took off the back piece and tomorrow i believe i will start to find the metal that i will weld for the back piece where my back seats are. does anybody have a idea that would be good for that, or pics of ppl that did it already

I wouldn't do it. Most of the allure and glamor of the 4Runner (at least until 90) was the fact you could remove the top. If you're okay with ruining the value of the truck, go for it. Otherwise, buy a truck.
Or maybe use the "search" feature of the site and look up the term 'bob' or 'bobbed'. You might find some great ideas.
as far as I'm concerned, I have a truck with a back seat and removable shell.

Also it will still ride like a 4runner not a pick up so body flex is not going to anywhere near what a truck will be. Your not going to get the "bed" to flex seprate from the truck cab like a truck would.
