I have a two inch body lift and like it a lot.
Mostly it makes working on the truck a whole lot easier.
Never had any trouble with it either.

i think the reason for your rough ride is you cranked your torsion bars way up. body lift doesn't really change ride quality....correct me if im wrong

well, I bought my BL about ten years ago. They are made of hard plastic, they are deterorating, and one has cracked, granted I know it needs new shocks but just had bad experience so far with it. I have Sway-a-away torsions and they are always settling, not as strong as they say they are. I used to do alot of high speed offroading, hills, and trails, it served me well back then but I am older now with a bad back. Slow 4wheelin, trails, and light rocks are where I am at now, I love my Runner.

If you were to buy a body lift from www.4crawler.com then you could buy one with Poly body mounts and makes for a good ride.

Well, you have extremely conflicting requirements.

35's and "don't have money" never, never should go even in the same paragraph together.

With 35's, ant's are going to be faster than you, if you don't re-gear.
Any clue as to what that's going to cost.
Now, after you re-gear (or even if you don't), how are you going to stop ?
Without doing something regarding brakes, you won't very well.

I suggest sticking to 31's and seeing what the vehicle will do stock, as it's obvious that you don't know..
Try it, you might really be surprised

I have a 3in body lift and 35x1250s
my plans include going to 33x10.50s and cutting my mounts down to 1.5 inches.
My 5th gear is useless unless you going down hill. The floor had to be cut out a bit so you could hit 5th and reverse.
I wouldn't go with a 3in BL. Maybe a 2.
I think they recommend 5.29 gears with 35s and up which means if you ever go back to stock then you are going to be geared way to low.
Think about what your really want, I was stupid and I passed up a stock truck for this one, now I wish I would have bought the stock on for 200 more.

33x10.50s are an awsome choice for someone who doesn't want to lift their truck or is undecided about a lift. I have been thinking about lifting mine, but now with the tires on I've got other plans for now instead of doing a 4inch bracket lift I'm going simiple and strengthening up my IFS.

I'm of the school of thought that says 34 is the max for IFS, pref. 33s. I wouldn't put 35s on an IFS truck, at least not a stock one.

Didn't read much past half way down, but I agree for the most part. Though one thing I will say for having a greater than 1" body lift is accessibility. Fuel filter anyone?? Haha... God I hate changing that! Even with my 1" body lift, it's still a PITA to get that son of a gun outta there!

I had them on an older truck of mine, but it was all street. I wouldn't go 35s again unless I was SAS'd. I'm very happy with the look of my 33x10.50s with a stock suspension. I'm going to do some minor trimming to make sure nothing rubs offroad, but onroad I'm gravy. I've been thinking about some 15x8s, but I just need to find the right tire pressure then I'll be happy.

what have you decided with all this info ?

I'll agree on the greater accessability of parts under the truck.

33x12.50x15's here. Stock front brakes, rear brakes disconnected and plugged, and still stop like a charm! Gotta love standards. Downshift! Downshift! DOWNSHIFT!!! lol

Though stopping in the rain is quite the adventure. Ever done two 360's through a middle of an intersection? Drive 40mph in the rain with your rear brakes disconnected, lightly step on the brakes, start fishtailin towards oncoming traffic, crank the wheel to the right, and look at all the pretty colors streak on by.

A lot of you say 33x10.50's are good size tire for no lift. Yeah, they will fit and you can wheel BUT i had that size tire with a 1" body lift and still crushed both sides of my inner fender walls.
Get at least some lift with 33's no matter what width they are...that is unless you don't do any serious wheeling. I'll recommend them (and still do) BUT just know that one little "mistake" or a certain obstacle will crush/pinch your sheet metal.

Damage after hitting (5-8 mph) a small ditch with a 1" BL and 33x10.50x15's...

The ditch where it happened...

on the matter of bodylifts, i would definitely recommend the 3" kit from performance accessories. I wheel my truck all the time and have not encountered a single problem with it. Definitely do the three inch bodylift.

This isn't a "lack of lift" problem.
Even adding some suspension lift won't prevent that.

This is a lack of proper bumpstop adjustment problem.

Even adding lift, the axle (tires) will go up as far as they did before (maybe the shocks will bottom out slightly before that).
Without extended bumpstops the same thing will happen again..

Exactly. My point is that i see too many people recommending 33x10.50s with NO additional info. I fell for it and would hate to see someone else fall for it too.

as for 35s and stock gears, last night I was going into a mud pit and going strait up 6ft where it was dug out, I made it through time and time again without much problems but even in 4x4 low I still had to us first, if I used second gear it would just bog down
