Left tail lignt only

Hello folks,

I have been having an issue for a while now and need to get to the bottom of it before I get in trouble with the law. Simply put my left tail light does not illuminate. The brake, turn, and reverse all work on the left side, everything works on the right side, and the license plate lights work as well. I started when I went to replace a bad bulb in the original assembly and saw that everything was toasted (bad sockets, brittle/broken plastic) so I bought new replacement assemblies and installed them. Since then, and with a different replacement assembly, my left taillight will not light up. I have to think that it is some sort of ground issue, but then I would think that the brake would also be affected. Got any ideas? Please let me know. Thank you.

Test with your multimeter see if you have voltage to the tail light socket.

Did you put the correct bulb in 1157?? is it installed correct.??

I have seen both these things done.

Damge to the plugs were they join together a little corrosion can cause problems.

Have a trailer light converter box ?? These seem to give no ends of problems .

Ground well the brake light and tail lights have different grounds

Be nice to know just what your looking at here???

Yes it is the correct bulb, and it is installed correctly, I guess it's time to get the multimeter out. I hate chasing electrical gremlins so this will not be fun. Ok thanks again.

Please tell me you didn't use crimp butt connectors. That's just asking for corrosion or contact problems down the road.
