90 V6 3VZE truck
I have a leaking AS Reed valve. Is it possible that a malfunctioning AS reed valve could send water into the exhaust and cause a solid plume of white smoke? Has anyone ever seen this?

 

OK after researching a little I believe there is not supposed to be any water in this valve, can anybody confirm?

No water in or near the AS/PAIR valve.
From the exhaust manifold into the read and valve section, from there it connects to a hard line that runs under the upper intake manifold and to a soft hose that connects to the air filter,
The blue VSV valve is what opens it during decal.
All this valve does is allow O2 into the the exhaust line to help the CAT burn cleaner and keep exhaust velocity moving.
It actually improves HP not hinder that some may think.


If you think its coolant in the exhaust then HG, Lower intake manifold gasket or the cold engine idle up in the throttlebody leaking.
Also replace the O2 sensor after you have fixed this problem.

 

Thank you Scope103 and Punchy. Based on your info I took a look at everything again to determine how water got in there. I mistakenly swapped the vacuum and water at the front of the motor. What a mess, all is good now, running like a top!
