Leaking Intake Manifold Gaskets

Hey guys, My intake manifold gaskets are starting to leak at the back of the motor. '95 4Runner with 3VZE. Pressure tested the coolant system and both sides are starting to leak. OEM gaskets are pretty spendy from the dealership and I've read and heard that Ishino Stone possibly either make or made the OEM gaskets for Toyotas. I can get them for a great price and obviously would rather do that than spend the money to buy from the dealership. Can anyone confirm if the OEM gaskets are in fact made by Ishino Stone? I've done some searching here on Ishino and haven't found much info. Thanks!

Not a clue, here. I've always used Fel-Pro. Never had a problem with them.

The Japan made Ishino-Stone gaskets are very good.

Much higher quality than 'Fail-Prone' or any of the Chinese junk like Evergreen, ect.

As good as Toyota OEM from the side by side comparisons I have made.

I do'nt know who the OEM makers were for sure, but the Stone gaskets I have got were all made in Japan.

Haha...."fail-prone".

Good to know on the IS gaskets. I'll keep that in mind, myself.

Thanks guys! Think I'll go ahead and order them then. Anyone actually used them on their 3VZE yet? I can get them for cost through a friends shop which makes them very appealing.

I recently did a valve adjustment and replaced the knock sensor pigtail on my '95 3vze.

I had a cheapo Evergreen gasket set on hand I could have used gaskets from, but I was concerned that the Chinese rubber compounds used in the valve cover seals might get prematurely hard or brittle and leak.

I bought a complete Stone overhaul set and used the valve cover seals, lower intake gaskets, and plenum gasket on this job. I'm glad I did.

The poor indexing of the punchings and the cheap paper material of most of the Evergreen gaskets compared with the Stone ones was immediately apparent.

I don't think I would ever use anything but genuine Toyota , or Ishino Stone gaskets on my Toyotas ever again.
