leaking headliner
hey, i tried searching for this but i didn't find an answer...
anyway.. i think my sunroof drain tubes are clogged, i have water leaking through the headliner right by the passenger rear door... the whole passenger side of the back seat was soaked...
where are these drain tubes located and is there a trick to clean them besides compressed air?
oh its a 91 4runner sr5

The only reason for water coming out of those drain tubes is if your actual sunroof is leaking.
There's a plastic pan epoxied to your roof that the glass slides back into when you open it. It's just there to catch condensation or rain water coming off when you happen to retract it, it's not meant to drain rain water through every time it rains.
There are two tubes on the pan, one one each rear corner. They are held on by simple spring clamps, and they end under your rear windows, inside the cab, and just drain out of the hole in the bottom of the fender. That's why I say it isn't for constant rain water disposal, otherwise the tubes would go somewhere external.
I'm betting you have an actual leak in the rubber seal around the sunroof, and that one of your tubes fell off. You'll have to drop the headliner to get to it. Or on the other end, you'll have to remove your side seat belts, then your trim, and then the little cargo compartment. Might help to take the speaker out too.
