LCE street valve springs

So after pricing OEM valve springs at Toyota $16 per spring I happened to look on LCE performance web site and see they are running a deal on there springs. I called and talked to the tech at LCE and he explained that they are basically just a slight steep up from stock springs and should work well on my mostly stock motor. Even with the LCE spring retainers the cost is still slightly less then OEM springs from Toyota.

Seems like a good deal but before I pull the trigger I wanted to get some feed back from other members.

Ask their country of origin.

Chinese slave labor goods will give your finely crafted Japanese machine the willies.

There are few things that need so much care in metallurgy, heat treating and surface finish, than valve springs do.

Buy em from a country that has a high standard of living.

Thanks for the advice. I made a few phone calls and this is what i have come up with

The company that produces the spring for LCE is supertech performance out of California.
The springs are manufactured in Argentina.
The wire for the spring is produced in Sweden.

Sounds as if they may be a higher quality product than many of the knock-offs that are commonly offered today.

Cbr, that price seems high at 16 per spring. I'm coming up with approx. 8 per + ship thru some of the online sites. Is it part # 90504-41001 you are looking at?

Cheers
Andy

That's coming from the Toyota dealer directly.

List is only 11.50 per spring, your Toyota dealer is just a tad greedy!!! Lol. The one place I have been ordering from as of late is 7.80 per + ship. OEM.

Most of the time I will look up prices & part numbers on toyotapartsdeal. com. I find it a good way to at least find out what the average price of an OEM part is. Unfortunately I rarely order from them anymore because their shipping costs are really high in my opinion. There are other places that offer just as good a price and better shopping rates.

Cheers

I ended up order the LCE springs and retainers for $125. I feel that's a good price and seem to be very good quality. I did price OEMsprings at yota shop but I don't know if there's are actually Toyota springs or knock offs.
