I just installed my LCE exhaust w. header. Happy with the power gains, not so happy with the sound at all...

Im not running a cat but this thing sounds like an airplane on the highway and a ricer in town. Is this just me? or is this normal.

Also want to know if a Cat will quiet her down

A converter may quiet it down a bit. If you get one that matches the header's outlet pipe size you shouldn't notice much if any power loss.

 

Lol. You bought a header not knowing it will sound like a Cessna? That's actually why I'm not looking for a header. I like that it flows better, but not looking forward to the noise.

im fine with noise, but not ricer noise. its the muffler thats making the honda civic sound

 

What size header did you get? I got the 1.5" LCE header and use a cat and a flowmaster muffler, it sounds GREAT!! But then again it's also bored and stroked and cammed and FIPK by KnN. It has a really deep low sound to it.

I dont know much about truck exhaust, but on all my tuner cars, we put in resonators to lower the tone, and to make it more uniform. ??
