Full legal swap, talked to my smog guy at work about it. He says if it looks stock, and passes no one will know the differents

why wouldnt he see a diference? its going to turn it into an F-1 car but the AFM swap has shown good results and so has the newer intake swap so put together it should be quite noticeable, and hopefully get him some MPG's too

Ok guys here is the story. I took my truck to my work and ran some test on it. I have a cracked intake manifold, a blown head gasket, my timing chain cover has holes, my exhaust is being held on with clothing hangers, my exhaust manifold whistles from pin holes all over it, and the dyno says I have 55hp with 65ft/lbs of torque. Now does anyone think I just might see an improvement?(BTW I will be smoging and dynoing after the swap)

hahahahahahahah sounds like you would see improvements if you put it in neutral and rolled it down a steep hill!!! that thing needs some major TLC!!! But forreal, i want pics when this gets started! should be a peppy little 4 banger when you finish, gonna be sweet!

Yea the previous owner didn't really do much in the way of maintenance. In the first 6 months I had it clutch crapped out, brakes failed, half shaft started popping and the engine start bathing it self in fluids. When my coolant looked like a whipped chocolate and smell like eggs, I knew something was very wrong

You can use the stock injectors, use a Denso cap, rotor, plugs, and plug wires. For exhaust, a good header and 2 1/4'' exhaust will work good.

He should still be ok with the stock injectors, but it would be a good idea to send the injectors out to be cleaned and rebuilt.

LC Engineering sells them, but do a little searching and you might be able to find it cheaper.

From what ive read here, Thorley headers are a good part, many here have them on there trucks. If Downey was still in business i would recomend one of there headers to you, that`s what i have on my 4Runner, and it wasn`t cheap but its a very good quality header.
