Knock Sensor

Can anybody tell me the resistance on a good knock sensor. I have a check engine light due to the knock sensor. The harness wiring is throwing out ECU's because of it. Mine only reads the negative signal.

Thanks

According to my Chiltons manual - there should be no continuity. I can't seem to find anything in the FSM about the knock sensor.

Yeah I would think that a knock sensor would be basically an "on/off" switch

it's either nocking, or it's not, lol

the typical and easy way to test is to start the motor, put a timing light on it, and while watching the timing close, lighty tap on the engine block with a hammer. the sensor should pic it up as a knock and retard the timing a little for a sec

at least that'll tell you if it's working if it DOES retard the timing, but if it doesn't, then the search begins could be the sensor itself, ot ir could be wiring...

It's almost ALWAYS the pigtail wire that runs to the knock sensor. It runs under the intake manifold, so you'll have to remove the entire plenum & manifold.
