knock sensor...

I think I have a bad knock sensor and/or bad wire harness. How hard is it to replace and where in the hell is it located, can not find it!

94 v-6

Go up to the right hand of the screen, click "search" and type in Knock Sensor

Uh no, that is your oil pressure sender.

Again, CLICK ON THE LINKS and READ.

It is underneath the intake, you will have to remove your upper AND LOWER intake manifolds to access it.

That sounds like a job, Ive never done anything like that before... not good.

haha i called toyota to see how much , 180 for the sensor , 600 for labor, looks like i getting my hands dirty.

where is a good place to get the wire? is toyota the only place?

KNOCK SENSOR LOCATIONS
Model Location
Pickup 2.4L 4WD In Cylinder Block, Below Air Cleaner
Pickup 3.0L In Cylinder Block, Below Air Cleaner

REMOVAL
Disconnect negative battery cable. On all models, disconnect knock sensor connector. Using Knock Sensor Socket (SST 09816-30010), remove knock sensor. Using ohmmeter, ensure there is no continuity between terminal and ground. If there is continuity, replace knock sensor. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten knock sensor to 33 ft. lbs. (44 N.m).
