Kijiji Ad That Might Interest Ontarians
Awhile back when I was still looking for a truck I came across this ad on kijiji. http://owensound.kijiji.ca/c-cars-ve...AdIdZ153954137 It's still up, and the vehicles are apparently still for sale.
$500 total for an 88 4runner and 87 pickup (they come as a pair). I'd called the guy awhile back about both vehicles and found out that one had been sitting for 4 years and the other for 6 (or was it 6 and 8?) but "were running" before they were parked. I hadn't gotten a chance to take a look at either because I found the truck I ended up buying elsewhere and went for it instead but I was told that both vehicles are in reasonable condition (not sure how much rust there is after sitting for half a decade), and are being sold as parts vehicles simply because the owner never got around to fixing them up and doesn't want to say they are drivable. I've been considering buying them for use as parts vehicles for my truck but am really only interested in the pickup for that purpose as I don't want to have to pay to junk the 4runner. If someone wants the 4runner I'd gladly go 50/50 with them on the purchase so I can get the truck. Then again, if you don't want to go splits have at and enjoy, maybe one of them is worth saving. I'm not sure but I think the pickup may be 4wd and I believe both are 5spd manuals, don't know about what's under the hood in either.

There's a couple of us I think, but I think there's more people from BC than Ontario here, dunno about the other provs. As for the trucks, I am of the belief that they are stock, if you give the number a call you'd probably get more details. I'm usually busy during the day and unable to call before the requisite 4pm.

Oh there's actually about the same number of us from Ont. here as from BC but most of us are not as active here as the BC bunch are.
It sounds like a reasonable deal but you'd have to check them over carefully, especially after sitting for a few years in the ONT. bush country.

I shot the person running the ad an email asking for pictures of the bodies, under the hood, and under carriage. If and when they get back to me I'll post the images to see what people think.

I'm still looking for anyone willing to go splits on this with me, but the person running the ad has not responded to my email. I'd call but I'd rather wait incase someone decides they want both and call themselves. Otherwise whoever wants to go splits on this, PM me and we'll discuss what to do next. I definitely want the pickup for parts, there's stuff I need to replace that would definitely cost me over $250, or even $500 from the stealership.
