From: Cincinnati, Ohio - Amelia is the exact place. There is no one else on this site from where I am. Seems like everyone is from Cali or Washington. I guess I need to move.

took off the right front wheel and there it was (i am already missing the fender well skirts due to body lift and wheelin') the bolts were on pretty good, but a little power blaster and flare nut wrenches and i got it off and the new one on.

Still doesnt start, so i will get the fuel pump tomorrow and try that this weekend.

Broski, can you hear the pump kick on when you turn the key to acc? You can hear it buzzin if you go to the back and listen. Does is come on or not? Take the line off the rail behind the throttle body and see if fuel is coming out steadly.

There ya go, i just home your sending unit lines up top aint ished out or you will be going to the stealership with 150 bones in your giving hand. I went to change my pump and those things were so rusted the bolts snapped off trying to get it off the top of the tank. Anywho...now you know what it is, fix it and let us know how it goes.

Just turning the key to acc won't power the pump - the circuit opening relay works off the start signal or the fuel pump switch in the air meter. Jump B+ and FP in the check connector, then turn ignition on, and THEN listen at the pump. Also, without a jumper, check that FP is hot when a helper is turning the motor over.

Coils, when they go bad, act very much like fuel pumps do when they go bad. But if you've checked spark, then, probably the pump.

here is an update.......

dropped the tank and found the power wire had coroded at the tank connection.
pealed off the exopy coating, resodered it and then recovered it in epoxy.
mine is not as neat as the factory, but i am only interested in getting a couple of years, not the 20 it lasted the first time.

get to return the $165 fuel pump, as i never installed it.

was not really that bad to drop the tank, only 6 bolts and the filler lines once it was empty.

THANX to all who made suggestions!

My problem is similar but is very sporadic, it will work fine for a week or two and then not start, when i try it again in a few days its hit or miss if it will work.

My question is will a fuel pump die slowly or will it just not work anymore?
