Well I'll use my 91 F250 lariet for a test vehicle. Won't be to hard to get it stuck.

That would be wicked, I don't really want a winch sticking out and visible, I'd rather have everything rather subtle on my truck. You know tell everyone its stock and have them think it's all driver's skill.

lol, that's why im doing it, i'll make sure to show pics of my custom mount, and how it all will fit together. i'm aiming so that i keep the factory look and in the front of the mount i will make it square so i can hide the winch with my licence plate! and with a flat black coat, it wont show.
But it'll be at least 2 weeks before they deliver to Belize and i make my custom mount, so while it is being made i will be bumperless. then when the bumper is on, not only will it be theft proof but it will look so factory you wont know it is there! Keep a sharp eye out for the next 3 weeks for my write-up and install!

Sounds just like what I want. I wasn't sure there was enough room for this to be possible. Can't wait to see it.

I'm surprised no one has done it already. i first wanted to do it when i saw the FJC concept in 03. it has a winch with search light built into the bumper. and i said that no matter what vehicle i get, i will do that. Sounds like i better make a flawless mount and write-up!

I bought the XRC8 and swapped the steel cable out for a synthetic one. It seems like a bit of a waste of synthetic rope, but the weight savings, durability and the fact that I can swap it out to another winch if I ever need to made it worthwhile. they are a really nice little winch for the price.
