Jack up one rear wheel, turn it 2 times and count the number of driveshaft rotations. About 3 and 3/4 = 3.73, just under 4 = 3.9, just over 4 = 4.1, 4 and 1/3 = 4.3, etc. If you want to get really accurate turn the wheel 20 times and divide the driveshaft rotations by 10.

5spd, right? I'll bet anything you have 4.10's....IF everything is still original.

Well, okay then.....

I'm sure it's 4.10's, also. Toyota used certain gear ratios in the 1st gen's depending on the set up....motor-vs-tranny. That's what I'm discovering, anyway. Funny how no one at the dealership has a clue, though. You'd think atleast one person would know.
