It's not always the starter...

Clutch switch or starter?
Once again, thanks for your help!
It was the starter.
For those that do not already know, please don't go to Autozone. They tested the starter and said it was fine, just put it back in. I insisted on a new one, of course they sold me the wrong one, after installing it, the small electrical plug did not fit in the socket by the positve connection, it was loose and a hokey part. They did give me my money back, went to another place I'd never done buisness with before, installed nicely.
Had to disconnect the fuel lines and the fuse box to get it out, but the thing is back in and works.
How much do I owe ya'll?

It is still possible that you are suffering from a voltage drop going to your starter solenoid. Your starter may have tested fine at Autozone, but if you have a low voltage, then it will not engage the solenoid. A new starter may seem "the fix" for a few months, but once it requires a little more voltage, it will provide intermittent starting months down the road.
If Autozone says your start is fine, your voltage drop to the solenoid will not engage it. Voltage drops are common on Toyota's once they age.

You should probably do the cheap fix on the bottom of the 4crawler starter page "What if its not the solenoid?". Having a strong voltage going to the starter solenoid directly from the battery using a relay will not hurt anything. You may even notice a difference in how responsive the start operates. Also make sure all your grounds and battery contacts are clean.

Thanks to the OP! I took out the clutch start cancel switch today after
months of troubleshooting and son having to pop the hood and hotwire the truck. It fired up 1st try! Hope this is it finally. (never seems to be)
