Issues with coolant routing.

Issues with coolant routing.
Hi there,
I am having some issues with my truck. I have an 88 and I swapped a 90 motor into it.
There were a lot of differences. I also deleted all the emissions stuff. It appears that with the deletion of these things I've ran into some issues.
The biggest one is the IAC. I deleted this. I live in cold climate. Whatever, I'll take my risks without running an IAC.
My issue is the port on the waterpipe BELOW the INTAKE MANIFOLD I have capped right now, this is probably not ideal.
I also have the barb fitting here capped off.
So... It can get -20* here. Do you think the IAC is NECESSARY? or can I get by without it? I'd prefer the least things that can leak / go wrong / etc as possible.
Also, should I get a plug and cap this coolant port here? Or should I run a hose from it to the waterpipe under the intake manifold.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thank you.
