ISR Parts

Hello all and here we go again with another mod. I have been trying to locate the fittings described in the ISR mod here on the boards. I have the pictures printed out and have gone to evey parts store (NAPA, Auto Zone, Schucks), hardware (Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace) and just about any other place I can think of to find the nipplesthat are described.

Seems no one around my area seems to carry 90 degree fittings of any kind that could be used for this mod, brass or any other material, much less o-rings and nuts. So if anyone has ideas on where else to get these two fittings I am all ears! My ISR mod will now have to wait till I return from my vacation and I just might have to try a few places in California. MOre when I return.

Ive tried to get parts for it as well to no success. There is a fitting place in Everett that specializes in brass fittings etc... its a huge warehouse, and they didnt have the stuff I described either. Even tried Tacoma Screw (love that name for some reason.....). Same thing, no dice.

I too had problems finding nuts also to fit the brass fittings. I was told it is because most brass fittings have plumber's threads(whatever that means). So i just drilled a hole bairly big enough for the brass fitting and then screwed it in. once i felt it was secure in the pipe i JB Welded all around it inside the pipe and out. I have not had a problem with it.

Do not use nuts in an intake tube!! If the nuts loosen and make their way to the combustion chamber, you'll have a catastrophic failure.

Plumber's threads = fine threads ie 10-32
most bolts you find are coarse thread ie 10-24
You can get fine thread bolts but usually only in industrial trade supply shops.
but as was stated previously don't put any bolts on the inside of the isr pipe if the bolt vibrates loose it will be sucked into the combustion chamber, which would give you a rattle [haha] and ruin your whole day. A better idea would be to do what one of the original mod-ers did here and weld the bolt into the pipe to give yourself a threaded connection then use a little 262 [red] thread locker on the fitting this will seal the threads and prevent siezing.

Gr8 input guys. BEen thinkin along the same lines using JB quik on the fittins once I find them. I may just wait till I get back from my trip to SoCal before I do the ISR. It isn't going to aid my MPG so its not a priority. I did get the clutch fan removed and the Ford electric installed and hooked up. Would never have known how to do it without the help fo guys here on the board. Thanks again guys. Will give report on the truck as how she faired on the trip. 2400 miles should be a good test/breakin

Autozone sells a kit for adding breather hoses to an intake. you drill a hole & pop a rubber gromet in & there are several diff size fittings for hoses you just pressure fit it in the gromet
