Internal Valve Cover Gasket (Baffle)
Has anyone changed the gasket inside the valve cover on a 22RE? It's the one for the baffle. I just got the master gasket set from engnbldr and a baffle gasket is included. The baffle appears to be riveted on. I tried searching the forum but haven't found anyone with a thread to say how they did theirs.
I normally wouldn't change this but the old gasket is falling apart and I don't want chunks floating in the oil.

I asked about this a few days ago: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...baffle-203378/
Another thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...r-22re-164498/
If you do it, let us know how it goes.

I asked this question a long time ago and got no real answer. If you take it off,you will have to use screws to secure it,and that left me uneasy.I just blew mine out with air and solvent, worked ok for me.

About mid way down this page, on the left: http://www.22reperformance.com/22RE%...20Process.html are two pics of the underside of the valve cover.
Using screws to secure the baffle shouldn't be an issue- just use the appropriate loctite to secure them in the cover.
On the up-side, having the baffle properly sealed will reduce the amount of oil sucked into the intake.

SO THAT IS WHAT THAT GASKET IS FOR! All these years I could not figure out where it went. I would not bother to change it since it will not make a difference. I usually clean my valve cover with kerosene when I change the gasket. When I'm done cleaning it, I run water over it to rinse it out and then I blow dry it to get the water out.
