Interior mat options

I know I'm not the 1st to ask but what is a good mat to either replace the whole carpet or cover up the majority of it. I'm about to put some money into my 4runner to get rid of the things that have been bugging me and the carpet is 1 of them. Has anyone ripped their carpet out and replaced it with some good flooring? Do Huskys or something similar really keep dirt and mud off of the carpet? Thanx,

i like my husky liners -- they definitely contain all the sand, saltwater, and misc. crap i trail into the rig every day.

if you do get them, be sure to trim the portion of the mat that sits under your gas pedal or you'll wonder where your power went. check out this thread...https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...usky+liner+WOT

Husky liners rock. Pricey but worth it.

Some folks have said good things about the liners that CostCo sells - much cheaper but time will tell if they'll hold up over the years.

I have the WeatherTech liner in the back, and it definitely protects the carpet! There's like a 2" lip all the way around and it fits extremely well - not likely anything is getting under there.

I have Husky liners throughout in my '92 (r.i.p.) and now in my '96...they cover almost all the visable carpet plus they look good. Check eBay for prices.

I found a company online that offers fitted replaced vinyl (rubber) floors for Toyotas. I replaced the carpet with the rubber floor in my 88 4runner this past year. It was molded to fit exact. You just have to cut out for the shifter, seat bolt holes, etc. I'll try to find the company website that I used. I found it using google. No more carpet to get wet. It supplied the padding to put beneath it but I chose not to use it. Less to have to dry if it gets wet.

I bought a custom fit/pressed Desert Camo vinly floor from these guys when I tore the old rotty carpet out of my 84 last year. Fits perfect and just like Shawn said......"You just have to cut out for the shifter, seat bolt holes, etc."

Mine was a little more than normal due to the custom color and ran about 160 bux to my door.

I was going to get Husky liners for the front & passenger areas for about $125 delivered. then I came across a sight that sells vinyl replacement carpet for the passenger area for only $130+shipping. So I've ordered it and it should arrive by Friday. Total cost was $150. Pics to come.
