Anyone done a paint based swap for the interior plastics? I have an 89 SR5 with grey interior but I would much prefer brown interior. Dash is cracked, console is busted, so debating if ti isn't just easier to clean those up a bit and spray them brown. Add soem black rubber floors and seat covers and I am 90% there. Only issue is the door panels.

But with so much to paint, does it make sense to try paint vs sourcing all the parts?

 

Yes, it’s a feasible idea. Use a quality interior paint from SEM and the results will be good.

I'd just buy new parts. There's not that many pieces, and with time and paint, you may not come out ahead doing it yourself.

 

chances of finding nicer parts for cheap are slim to none unless you live in an area with alot of these at the wrecking yards with no demand for parts.

 

Doing it right ain't always cheap.
